Roads are each and every day more restricted, dangerous and overpopullated… if you want to have some fun you have to go to a circuit…

Good idea, by the way… Let´s select a car from our trackday garage… please come inside and watch the gallery of road cars, prototypes, racing cars and concepts you´ll for sure will love to put to their limits.

Three years ago I was finishing my Industrial Design technical engineering at EUDI (Escuela Universitaria de Diseño Industrial), asociated with the UDC (Universidade Da Coruña), in Ferrol. As the final project we had to design some concept furniture to the bioclimatic era habitat and the result had a very good acceptance. I am really proud of what I´ve learned in that university school and of the project, as well as all my classmates, projectmates and teachers. Here is the result of that final year/project.

EUDI, in collaboration with FECEG (Federación Gallega de Carpintería y Ebanistería) started an innovative initiative that has as main objective the development of new concepts in furniture and furnishings in the  Bioclimatic era, rooted in the current and historical heritage of Galicia. The designs arise from the trend research and analysis of socialization in different areas of bioclimatic buildings and, therefore, adapted to profiles of various social groups.

I had worked with Marta Falcón, Alfonso Orbán and Juan Gándara in this project, in a marvellous explosive team named Humano. The result are this 5 pieces of innovative functional-emotive furniture.

We are finally closing this series of posts (I and II) with the actual most extreme sport in this human continuous pursuit of gravity breakout. In this case we are to talk about an invention that had suffered a lot of evolutions to become a working practice, with especificall courses and companies that give the posibility to whomever wants (or has the clotted blood to do it), could directly fly as birds do, with no more than a single suit.

Spirit of Montjuic has taken place in the Montmeló circuit this weekend. In there, we were able to recall the years in which the Montjuic circuit housed the Spanish event of the Formula 1 championship and other competitions.

You can find more information on its official website and an interesting collection of photographs on the website of Racingpasión (MotopasionF1), also, I leave you with my personal photos of the event. Enjoy!

As you know, I’ve been studying the Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Modelling at Elisava and this week I have had to present the final project. As had been announced in the teasers I posted (more on my Facebook profile, which you can follow and contains many more entries), I realized the project on a new concept of autonomous urban vehicle where people can sitfacing 2 to 2, very small, but with large luggage capacity and habitability.

I had a blog entry a while ago where you could see there was already people working on an already operating taxi, with no driver needed. Already then, I specified that it should be considered a more focused on comfort package forgeting about the space occupied by the driver. If we also subtract the volume of the conventional engine and add motor in wheels, the result is the Renault Exedra.

As in Cataluña are in electory campaign, it seemed appropriate to post this text that I found in a very interesting book “Group Psychology” by G. Le Bon. It is about how words are able to evoke feelings and thoughts, moving us aside incomprehensibly from what is really being said, launching us to an idyllic pointless trip. Is priceless:

“The power of words is bound to evoke images and is completely independent of its real meaning. Those whose meaning is less well defined sometimes have maximum capacity for action. For example, terms such as democracy, socialism, equality, freedom, etc.., whose meaning is so vague that large volumes are not enough to clarify it. And yet, their short syllables is joined by a truly magical power, as if they involve the solution of all problems. They synthesize various unconscious aspirations and hope for its realization.

At this time I have moved to Barcelona, I needed to go a step further as a professional and to be enriched personally; I have to say that in this case, the city gives you every single and possible opportunity.

I have started to work as a designer and modeller in Rücker Lypsa, advanced product design and development center. Moreover, I am studying a Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Modelling at the Elisava School, centered in great quality surfaces design and development with softwares Alias and ICEM Surf, as well as Maya and Flash.

Of course, I will be developing a quite interesting project in the Posgraduate Diploma that will be finished on February last days. You will have it here to evalluate.

The calendar we use has 7 days a week because it is what lasts each phase of the moon. Something useful and established from pre-Roman times, but today more than anything we want it because it sets the cycle of work, study, relax, leisure, etc. 5 working days and 2 off, in most cases.

The names of each day correspond to the celestial bodies visible at the time, are simply numbers or religious holidays. I guess very few people are influenced by one day being called one way or another, but what if it would do? How would you call the Monday? What about the Saturday? Can you assign an activity to Tuesday to call it, for example, reflection-day?

It may seems silly, but I suppose that many people associate a Saturday or Friday to leisure or other activities outside the routine and is looking forward to it, however I do not know if you have ever considered it a special day, but why could not it be a Wednesday? Why not doing something special every day and reflect on their name, like, for example, the Jews do with the Sabbath?
